Yes, Thanksgiving Day is approaching and it is a time to get together with family and friends, and eat to your heart’s delight. It is also the one holiday where fashion simply must be functional.

While some of us are packing our weekend bags for a special vacation, others are planning a lovely dinner. No matter your flair or the formality or informality of your get-together, it's the perfect excuse to put together a marvelous outfit that makes you feel and look good.

Thanksgiving is an occasion that calls for festive attire! You want to look polished but be very comfortable because thanksgiving is a day that is all about eating, eating and eating. We recommend that you dress up because you know that you will be posing for pictures.

Ladies, a comfortable dress put together with a fancy clutch and something sparkly, like chandelier earrings or a statement necklace is ideal. Another option would be to wear dark stretch denims paired with a semi-loose fitting, yet dazzling blouse and a blazer. Please accessorize but do not go overboard and look like an Indian bride. Remember, high heels are your best friends. They elongate your legs so you appear slimmer and give an instant feminine touch.

Gentlemen, we recommend that you wear a blazer with a clean-cut button-down shirt and dress pants. For the more casual male, try straight fit denims, a cashmere cardigan, loafers and a statement watch. Ta-da – It’s as simple as that! Mix it up and show off your fashion skills.

When attending the get-together, be punctual and courteous. Bring a bottle of wine or dessert to the dinner and have fun! Remember, being overdressed is better than being underdressed!

Thanksgiving is not just about looking pretty (Really? Just kidding!). It’s all about being thankful for what you have in life and spending the joyous holiday with friends, family and loved ones.
